The Challenge

Tour de Cure isn't a race — it's the American Diabetes Association's flagship fundraising ride, and its biggest annual moment to court the sponsors and high-level donors who fund research, education, and advocacy for people living with diabetes. Florida's chapter needed a piece of proof: something that could land in front of a sponsor committee and make an abstract mission feel immediate — the scale of a full ride weekend, the energy of hundreds of riders on the road, and the reason it all matters.

The brief was tight on time. The film needed to be ready to show while the goodwill of event weekend was still fresh, without sacrificing the production value a national health nonprofit's brand demands.

The Approach

j michael media has spent more than ten years returning to Tour de Cure Florida to tell that year's story — not a repeated template, but a fresh film built around the riders, sponsors, and volunteers who showed up for that particular weekend. The 2026 edition followed the same discipline: crews on route and at the finish line, cut into a tight, sponsor-ready film built to be shown in a room, not just streamed at home.

Capture

On route, at the finish

Riders at the start, sponsors in the village, volunteers keeping the day running — the full cast of the weekend gets its moment on camera.

Cut

A 2:31 sponsor reel

Edited to hold a donor committee's attention start to finish — tight enough for a meeting, cinematic enough for a stage.

Deliver

Turned around fast

Finished and in the client's hands within days of the event, branded to ADA's Tour de Cure identity and ready to distribute.

The Response

You captured the energy, momentum, and scale of the weekend beautifully — it really does feel like a high-performance engine driving our mission forward. We're excited about how it's going to serve as that perfect validation tool for our sponsors and high-level donors, especially in showing the real impact on education, advocacy, and research.

A Decade on the Road

This isn't a one-off deliverable — it's the newest entry in a relationship that goes back more than ten years. Every edition has been built around whoever made that year's ride happen, so the films read less like a highlight reel and more like a running record of the Tour de Cure Florida community.

  • RidersThe people on the bikes carry each film — their reasons for riding, told in their own words and faces.
  • SponsorsPresenting and signature sponsors get visible, on-screen recognition for backing the ride year after year.
  • VolunteersThe crews at check-in, rest stops, and the finish line who make the weekend possible get their due too.
06

Why It Matters

Each film is built to serve the same three ideas ADA uses to recruit its riders — the message it has to make a stranger feel in under three minutes.

  • Cycling for a causeRiders combine a love of cycling with raising awareness for the diabetes community.
  • Fundraising for research and supportEvery mile ridden funds ADA's research, education, advocacy, and support programs directly.
  • Building a strong communityTour de Cure unites a diverse community of riders around one goal: ending diabetes.
